About the Artist
Youri Alen taught himself how to work with a camera while studying industrial product design in Belgium. It was while living in Hungary that he started to use it as a tool to explore the area where he is living, and to question what he encounters. He tends to focus on a subject for a couple of years, once he reaches his goal he shares his findings locally, where it can actually make a difference. At the moment his work brings attention to social and urban matters. He held exhibitions at the Budapest Center of Architecture, the Kiscell Museum, which is a part of the Budapest History Museum, and Aulart, an exhibition space within a primary school which offers artistic development. He recently moved to Dublin.
