About the Artist
Tommie Lehane is a photographic artist focusing on a multi-faced approach to the idea of “place”. His practise is mainly based in small villages in West Kerry and the Middle East.
Tommie has been exhibited in Ireland, Europe and the Middle East and his work is in many private collections. As well as having been exhibited in the Royal Hibernian Academy, The Royal Ulster Academy, Visual Carlow and numerous other Group exhibitions, Tommie has had solo Exhibitions in Dublin, Westport, Bunclody and Aleppo (Syria).
The work displayed is from a long-term body of work “Don’t be late for your tea”, documenting the disappearing practise of children “going out to play”.
